SHEARING TECHNOLOGIES
Bioruptor® Plus sonication device
The Bioruptor® uses a unique system to uniformely process multiple samples in sealed tubes of 0.5 ml to 50 ml capacity. The built-in cooling system (water cooler and Single Cycle Valve) ensures high precision temperature control resulting in higher quality samples. An excellent device for shearing chromatin, cell and tissue disruption and many other applications (see below).
Bioruptor® Pico sonication device
The Bioruptor® Pico is the latest innovation in shearing and represents a new breakthrough as an all-in-one shearing system capable of shearing samples from 150 bp to 1 kb. The shearing accessories and consumables have been developed to allow flexibility in sample volumes (20 µl – 2 ml) and a fast-parallel processing of samples (up to 16 samples simultaneously). The built-in cooling system (Bioruptor® Cooler) ensures high precision temperature control. The user-friendly interface has been designed for any researcher, providing an easy and advanced modes that give both beginners and experienced users the right level of control.
Megaruptor® 3
The Megaruptor® 3 was designed to provide the best experience with the fragmentation of DNA from 5 kb – 100 kb. Our user-friendly system allows for 8 samples to be processed simultaneously without additional user input. The shearing with the Megaruptor leads to optimal long-read sequencing using PacBio®’s, and Oxford Nanopore™ technologies’ systems.
Diagenode One sonication device
The Diagenode One is the new desktop solution that provides optimal DNA shearing for Next-Generation-Sequencing and Chromatin shearing for ChIP analysis with small samples. The fully integrated cooling system and the all-new 20 and 50 µl microfluidic chips have been enhanced to deliver the highest performance. Optimal small volume DNA shearing for Next-Generation-Sequencing in the 150bp – 1kb range.
Automation – IP-Star® Compact Automated System
Diagenode’s IP-Star® Compact is a simple, automated bench-top instrument that standardizes different epigenetics applications (i.e. ChIP, MeDIP or NGS Library preparation) and library preparation. The platform offers full workflow support for epigenetics research, utilizing our complete kits and laboratory-validated protocols to rapidly deliver high-quality and consistent data.
Electrophoresis – Mupid-One
The Mupid™-One Electrophoresis system is one of the most convenient DNA separation systems on the market. It has many novel features including a separated power supply, a simple buffer drainage system, support for multi-channel pipettes, and seven output voltage settings (18, 25, 35, 50, 70, 100 and 135 V) as well as a timer function for delivering the perfect run every time.
Gel Documentation Systems – FastGene FAS-Digi PRO
The FastGene® FAS-Digi PRO is our newest imaging system for the detection of DNA and RNA in agarose gels. This gel doc system is a further development of our very successful FAS-Digi (GP-05LED). Equiped with a light-sensitive 24 MPixel camera, the FAS-Digi PRO is controlled completely by our newly developed imaging software. With the live view mode, all changes of the camera, the exposure time, the lens aperture, and a digital zoom are displayed in real-time. The FAS-Digi PRO is a fully networkable gel doc system, which allows a simple transfer of images when connected to a PC.
FAS V Gel Documentation System (CCD-Sensor)
FastGene® FAS V – Gel documentation system with Blue/Green LED technology – for documentation of DNA/RNA in agarose gels, protein gels and petri dishes. Blue/Green LED technology enables the detection of red and green DNA dyes. The FastGene® FAS-V has the biggest Blue/Green LED Transilluminator yet. The huge imaging area is 26 cm x 21 cm big and has a superb uniform transillumination. This is guaranteed by 12 LED arrays at each side.
FastGene Blue/Green GelPic LED Box
FastGene® Blue/Green LED GelPic Box: LED Imaging box with a high resolution CMOS camera (9 Mpixel), USB 2.0, gel tray, amber shield, software and manual The new LED technology enables the detection of DNA from red as well as green DNA dyes. Below are images taken with the FastGene® Blue/Green LED GelPic Box. For comparison reasons, the 1.5% agarose gels made with TAE Buffer were stained with Ethidium Bromide or with Midori Green Advance recommended concentrations and loaded with 5 µl DNA Ladder. Additionally, the 5 µl DNA ladder was stained using Midori Green Direct and added to an unstained gel
FAS Nano Gel Documentation System
World’s smallest gel documentation system The FastGene® FAS-Nano is the smallest gel documentation system. It has unique features such as the Blue/Green LED technology, enabling the detection of red dyes, such as Ethidium Bromide and of our next generation green dyes Midori Green.The excitation of the dyes is done using light in the visible range. this has as an advantage that no damage to the DNA or the user is seen.
Transilluminator – Blue/Green LED Transilluminator XL
Transilluminator with Blue/Green technology for the visualisation of nucleic acids. Nippon Genetics developed a brand new LED technology which is unique in the world so far. We have developed a so called BLUE/GREEN LED technology and we found out that this technology shows superior sensitivity with green and red dyes.
UV-Transilluminator

For the detection of DNA, stained with Ethidium Bromide, UV-Transilluminators are still widely used. The achievable sensitivity is strongly dependent on the quality of the UV lamps and of the filter material. High quality UV tables show almost no visible light. The quality of the UV light source and of the filter can easily be tested: UV light is invisible to the human eye.
Liquid Handling – CyBioFeliX
Fully automatic multichannel pipetting system The CyBioFeliX is a flexible and fully automatic multi-channel pipetting robot. The modular system consists of a basic unit, with a unique two-level deck system and easy-to-change pipetting heads. The pipetting heads can automatically switch between different pipette tip magazines, pipetting tools, and other instruments (such as grippers). Further accessories such as tip-washing stations, reservoirs etc. are available as well.

BioImaging – UVP ChemStudio Series
Next generation of gel and blot imagers No matter what your preferred method of western blotting is, the UVP ChemStudio Series features the highest sensitivity in gel analysis and blotting available. Fluorescent western blotting is the preferred method for quantitative comparisons between protein samples and for detection of multiple proteins. However, the ChemStudio and ChemStudio PLUS systems were built with flexibility in mind, providing standard RGB and IR detection as an option.
PCR Workstations & Cabinets – UVP PCR UV³ HEPA Cabinet
Analytik Jena offers a complete line of PCR UV systems. PCR UV hoods use shortwave ultraviolet to control unwanted transfers of nucleic acids. The systems bring together UV irradiation, antimicrobial stainless steel and aluminum to create a dual-attack environment against PCR contaminations.
