TISSUE DISSOCIATORS
gentleMACS™ Dissociator
The gentleMACS™ Dissociator is a benchtop instrument for the semi-automated dissociation of tissues into single-cell suspensions or thorough homogenates. A single sample or two samples in parallel can be processed. Two types of unique gentleMACS Tubes used with the instrument enable the time-saving and easy dissociation or homogenization of tissues in a closed system. The instrument offers optimized gentleMACS Programs for a variety of specific applications. Special protocols have been developed for various tissues. The standardized tissue dissociation or homogenization procedures make for reliable and reproducible results.
For higher throughput and even more flexibility see also the gentleMACS Octo Dissociator. For fully automated tissue dissociation browse the gentleMACS Octo Dissociator with Heaters.
gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator
The gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator is a benchtop instrument for the semi-automated and standardized tissue dissociation or homogenization of up to eight samples. Single-cell suspensions or thorough homogenates from virtually any tissues are easily and reproducibly obtained using the unique C Tubes or M Tubes. These single-use gentleMACS Tubes allow sample preparation in a closed and sterile system, providing a high level of user safety and minimize cross-contamination.
In addition to the numerous optimized and ready-to-use gentleMACS Programs, the gentleMACS Octo Dissociator allows the user to develop individualized programs for almost any biological material. The instrument allows independent use of all eight tube positions, different programs can be selected and run individually. For fully automated tissue dissociation browse the gentleMACS Octo Dissociator with Heaters.
gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator with Heaters
The gentleMACS™ Octo Dissociator with Heaters is a benchtop instrument for the fully automated and standardized tissue dissociation or homogenization of up to eight samples.
Equipped with eight individual heating units and numerous optimized and ready-to-use gentleMACS Programs the gentleMACS Octo Dissociator with Heaters offers a fully automated workflow for tissue dissociation. In addition the instrument allows the user to create user-defined programs for almost any biological material. All eight positions can be operated independently.
Single-cell suspensions or thorough homogenates are easily and reproducibly obtained using the unique C Tubes or M Tubes. These single-use gentleMACS Tubes allow sample preparation in a closed and sterile system, providing a high level of user safety and minimize cross-contamination.
Sample Mixing – MACSmix™ Tube Rotator
The MACSmix™ Tube Rotator is a versatile instrument running on rechargeable batteries and operating independently of a permanent power supply . Alternatively, mains operation is possible. It is suitable for a temperature range of 2 °C to 42 °C and can, therefore, be placed in a refrigerator or incubator.
The MACSmix Tube Rotator provides effective overhead sample mixing in various tube sizes from 0.5 mL to 50 mL tubes. The device operates at three different speeds or at set intervals.
Cell Separation – autoMACS® Pro Separator
The autoMACS Pro Separator combines all the benefits of the proven autoMACS Technology with novel features such as automated magnetic labeling and sensor-controlled processing of multiple samples. The instrument status can be viewed from a distance, facilitated by illumination of buffer bottles by light-emitting diodes. The instrument is operated via touchscreen and intuitive screen menus. At the touch of a button, multisamplelabeling and cell separation are performed, minimizing hands-on time. Sample integrity is also maintained by use of MACS Chill Racks that allow for cooling of samples and eluted fractions. With its compact size, the autoMACS Pro Separator easily fits into a standard laminar flow hood or safety cabinet.
MultiMACS™ Cell24 Separator Plus
The MultiMACS™ Cell24 Separator Plus is designed for the convenient execution of any positive or untouched isolation using MACS® Cell Separation Reagents, including StraightFrom™ MicroBeads.
Separations can be performed with the Multi-24 Column Block or with up to 12 LS, LD, or Whole Blood Columns in combination with the Single-Column Adapter.
The MultiMACS Cell24 Separator Plus contains a strong permanent 24-well magnet that induces a high-gradient magnetic field within columns. The field is strong enough to retain cells labeled with even small amounts of MACS MicroBeads in the columns. After transfer of the columns to the Elution Chamber of the MACS Elution Station magnetically labeled cells can be eluted from the columns via a small vacuum impulse.
The touchscreen guides the user through the complete separation process. During cell separation the instrument moves the separation column block into and out of the magnet, thus allowing convenient processing of up to 24 samples in parallel. For the elution of the positive fraction, the column block or the single columns in the Single-Column Adapter must be transferred to the Elution Chamber.
Pipetting steps during cell separation procedures are either performed manually with software guidance, or can be fully automated with the MultiMACS X.
MultiMACS™ X
The MultiMACS™ X is a high-throughput instrument for laboratories requiring fully automated processing of high sample numbers or sample volumes. Highly pure cells with excellent recoveries can be separated from 1 to 24 samples in parallel using Multi-24 Column Blocks or single columns.
The MultiMACS™ X is designed for the convenient execution of any positive or untouched isolation using MACS® Cell Separation Reagents, including MACS StraightFrom™ MicroBeads. Separations can be performed with the Multi-24 Column Block or with up to 12 LS, LD, or Whole Blood Columns in combination with the Single-Column Adapter. The instrument combines the benefits of the MultiMACS Cell24 Separator Plus technology and automated pipetting for walk-away high-throughput cell separation.
